Helping you feel joyful, connected, supported, and safe has always been what we’re about at Studio Deep Roots.
During the uncertainty we’re all experiencing while COVID-19 (aka “Coronavirus”) is at the forefront of our consciousness in our community, we want to assure you that has never been more true. Please read on.
I and the rest of the SDR resident practitioners and instructors care about you, and we are doing what we can to keep our studio family safe during this time. We want to share our thoughts and efforts with you as we all move through this together. Here are the tangible steps we are taking:
- We are redoubling our habits of regularly disinfecting door knobs/handles, counters, and other shared surfaces with certified disinfectant wipes.
- We have added hand-sanitizer to areas around the studio for all of our use, to supplement good hand-washing practices.
- In addition to frequently rotating out our already diligently-laundered hand towels near the sinks, we are placing paper towels in the restrooms for you to use instead if you wish.
As you likely already know, the best prevention is to regularly wash your hands well with soap for at least 20-seconds each time. How long is 20 seconds? Sing the chorus of “Africa” by Toto, “Truth Hurts” by Lizzo, or “Raspberry Beret” by Prince twice in a row, to name a few ear-worms to get you started!
While we’re practicing good hygiene, don’t forget to cough or sneeze into your elbow–never your hands–and for now avoid shaking hands. May I suggest a tip o’ the invisible top hat, or spirited jazz hands in the meantime for a sassy alternative?
Medical professionals and officials who are overseeing this have stated that if you feel well and do not have reason to believe you have been exposed, and are not in a particular at-risk population, you should continue with all your activities as normal at this time. So come on down and enjoy your classes, get a massage, and otherwise keep your appointments as usual. As always, if you do not feel well, we ask that you stay home to take care of yourselves, as that is most important. As is possible, please contact your practitioner or instructor with as much notice as possible so arrangements can be made to reschedule or adjust as necessary.
This is not a time for us to stop enjoying our daily activities. Not only do we benefit energetically from the connection with our community; but it is also true that our community’s small businesses, including Studio Deep Roots and our residents, can suffer greatly from fear and panic and lack of attendance and business. We all thank you for your continued support while we navigate the best ways to conduct our business during this unfamiliar territory. We’re so grateful for all of you.
If there is anything we can to better support you during this time, please let us know.
In service, and with tremendous gratitude,
Shay and the SDR Family
