Special guest Ian Nagoski: ANAR DANA Seattle Cultural Evening
A special feature of the Seattle ANAR DANA Project is our Cultural Evening Series at Studio Deep Roots Dance. On the Friday evening before our rehearsal weekend we have a potluck at the studio and look at films, photos, costumes, listen to music, discuss history, ethnography and politics of one of the regions from our project.
I am very excited that we have a special guest IAN NAGOSKI for the first Cultural Evening of the 2019/20 season. Part of our repertoire this season are dances from the Armenian diaspora, specifically Fresno of the 1950’s. This special presentation will put that in a bigger context of immigrant music from the Ottoman Empire in the US. Please join us!!!
These evenings are open to everyone
Suggested donation is $15
Please feel free to pass this on and invite your friends. If you can, bring something for the potluck that fits the evening’s theme.
Please email me to reserve your space!
